Energy Boost in Under 10 Minutes
The quick routine is a great break during the day at your desk. It gets the blood pumping and qi moving. Study after study shows that too much sitting is one of the worst things that can happen to your body. And yet, we all sit all day at work, walk to our cars to sit down for the commute home, then after dinner sit in front of the TV until going to lay down. One of my favorite teachers and holistic medicine practitioners, Cheng Man-ch'ing would always say, why sit when you can lie down? The idea was that you really shouldn't be sitting so much, and if you need to then just lie down. Our bodies are designed to move and bend and sway, so when we are stagnant too long we feel bad - and tired! So just get up and move around a little bit. I know it seems too easy, but this can actually be way better than a cup of coffee. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
