STRENGTHENING the mind
We break this area down into two sections - emotional health and cognitive health. Emotional health focuses on the emotions, helping us get a handle on things like depression, anxiety, PTSD, or hypervigilance. Cognitive health helps us focus on things like memory, acquity, motor skills, and response times.
Emotional Health
When trying to improve emotional health, we often go to friends and family for emotional support. When that fails we can even start seeking help from professionals like therapists or psychologists. They may help us understand why we are feeling a certain way. But something that has been clinically shown to help improve mood, regulate the sympathetic nervous system to respond appropriately, and is extremely cheap and easy - is breathing!
